"Spring Breeze Flow on Timeless Strings" invites you on a musical journey through the rich heritage of the box zither, with a focus on the versatile Chinese GuZheng. While this instrument shares a common ancestry with the Japanese Koto, the Arabic Kanun, and the Western Zither, the performance highlights the Guzheng’s unique ability to resonate across cultures and ages.
We traverse the instrument's expansive stylistic range, from the haunting echoes of ancient Guqin adaptations to the vibrant energy of modern pop and contemporary masterpieces. Accompanied by piano and operatic vocals, we bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, culminating in a groundbreaking multilingual reinterpretation of the Taiwanese folk classic "Longing for the Spring Breeze (望春風)."
